Saliva helps prevent cavities and infection by reducing the amount of bacteria in the mouth Patients with dry mouth may discover they are getting more cavities

 

Recommendations:

 

• Seeing your dentist regularly;
• Using a mouth wash without alcohol;
• Drinking plenty of water;
• Using a fluoride rinse.

Certain medications can cause dry mouth.
Dry mouth is also common with type 1 diabetes.
An oral rinse can be prescribed by your dentist to restore mouth moisture.
It is extremely important to keep your mouth moist.
